I got up early in the morning with tons of excitement to travel to the Cusco airport. When arrived, I waited a bit after which was told that my plane was circling in the air waiting for that clouds to obvious. Turns out, the plane couldn't land due to the fact of the cloud cover.
Rather, it went to Lima, that was its final destination. In other words, my flight was cancelled and I had to arrive back many hours later to take one more flight.
Considering that this bad luck transportation fairy experienced completed its visit, I was incorrect. My flight went efficiently, I ate a beef jerky treat, and I took a bus to Puno, Peru (The city about the Peruvian side of Lake Titicaca).
I believed I might try to be able to catch one more bus to Copacabana, but as I'm learning, absolutely nothing is ever as easy as it appears down right here. The bus driver said I couldn´t consider a bus to Copacabana since the immigration office would happen to be closed by the time I arrived. Prior to I had time to even think by what to do next, he and his awesome assistant had been currently unloading my backpack into a nearby hostel and i thought i lost a single of my precious gems.
Distressed, I referred to as the hotel in Copacabana to cancel my reservation for the night. I didn´t wish to be in Puno for the night; it wasn´t part of my plan.
Clearly, plans can alter very quickly here.
To obvious my head and cheer myself up, I decided to go consume at a restaurant suggested by my Lonely Planet guidebook. I had the most delicious meal in all of my trip right here. If the meal would have been a individual, I´d be in adore. First, I ordered hot chocolate.
Next came the main dish: Alpaca steak with vegetables inside a cream sauce and warm apple sauce about the side. It was so excellent, and I felt much better after eating this kind of satisfying meal.
What I realized this first day was that things take place for a cause and not to get so upset if something doesn´t go as planned. I´m here to learn and to experience new cultures and methods of life. With a lot more patience and flexibility, I´ll be happier.
